Q: What is a cardless donation?

A: It is a donation made by a donor to a cause they care about using their mobile phone.

Q: Why 'cardless'?

A: Its called 'cardless' because a monetary donation is made using a donors mobile wallet, which can be through ApplePay, GooglePay or A2A means. It's not possible to use a physical card with Superspree devices.

Q: Why is cardless a good idea?

A: It's a good idea for a few reasons:

  • If you are donating money, then donating using your mobile wallet is more secure than using a physical card. This is because of the 2FA (pin or face recognition for example) that you need every time you make a payment

  • If you are a charity, non-profit or fundraiser, then it allows you to switch payment processors to get the best deal on fees or simply to combine with your existing solutions to reduce administration burden.

  • It allows us to create a story mode so that people can donate stories. These can be invaluable for feedback, for campaigning and advocacy or for collecting media representations of impact.

Q: Is it more expensive than contactless?

A: No, it's cheaper than contactless donations. This is because Superspree does not participate in the donation flow and we don't take any fees from a donation.

Q: How will my donors know what to do?

A: Mobile wallets became the most used form of payment globally in 2019. So if you explain to donors that they can use applepay or googlepay (or your local equivalent) then they will know what to do next.

Q: What exactly does a donor physically do?
